SGFP Advocacy Town Hall: Putting family medicine on the election agenda.

Dear Colleagues,

Have you ever felt overwhelmed by the demands of family practice, struggled with finding timely access to health care for your patients, hoped to get rid of the administrative burden so you can focus on the care? It's time to make yourself heard!

Family physicians know best the issues faced by our healthcare system, our patients, and the struggles of day-to-day family practice. We need YOU to bring those issues to the forefront of the next Ontario general election which will be held on or before June 2, 2022.

You’re Invited to the SGFP Advocacy Town Hall with Dr. Danielle Martin, Chair of the Department of Family & Community Medicine at the University of Toronto and Kim Moran, CEO of OCFP, on Feb. 24 at 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. We will be hosting a member Town Hall to share a Family Doctor Advocacy Toolkit and training video that will guide you through meeting with your local MPP and/or candidate(s). Please click here to register.

No previous advocacy or political experience required - your expertise and experience as a family doctor is what we need!

Thank you to our SGFP Advocacy Working Group:

  • Dr. Sharad Rai, SGFP Advocacy Chair

  • Dr. Allanah Li

  • Dr. Alykhan Abdulla

  • Dr. Dominik Nowak

  • Dr. Matthew Schurter

  • Allie Kinnaird

We hope to see you there!

Dr. David Schieck, SGFP Chair
