Vaccination Updates
Hi,
Happy Friday!
A few key things to share with you on our ongoing vaccination rollout
1. Aggregate Primary Care Vaccination Reports are available. Download the instructions and toolkit at https://www.ontariomd.ca/pages/emr-ereport-patient-vaccination-reconciliation-toolkit.aspx.
Need help accessing or reconciling your report?
Register now for Primary Care Vaccination Quality Improvement Support Webinar to learn how to use the toolkit on Jul 29, 2021 08:00 AM
Need 1-on-1 support? David Raan is a QI specialist working with Health for All FHT and has kindly offered to help local OHT family physicians work through reconciling their reports. Please email David at davidr.qidss@gmail.com for assistance.
2. Facilitating Vaccination for your Unvaccinated Patients: There's been a lot of confusion on the requirements of the Q007 COVID-19 Vaccine Patient Facilitation code. Public Health has clarified that the memo from Ontario Health constitutes a formal request for family physicians to contact our patients. However the physician must "assist in the registering/booking" to qualify, so simply providing information on where to register or go for walk-in vaccines does not meet the requirement.
3. Resources
York Region's Digital Partner Toolkit is full of great resources for you and your patients, including fact sheets in 14 languages, videos, and general information about the vaccine rollout in York Region. PDF attached.
Sick Kids is accomodating youth with developmental disorder, mobility, behavioural or other specialized needs, including needle phobia. See attached PDF flyer for details.
I also want to acknowledge the tremendous amount of work we've all done through this pandemic and the fatigue and burnout many are feeling, especially as we're being asked to to take on more work with contacting our unvaccinated patients. The OMA has stressed that participating in the identification of our unvaccinated patients is voluntary and should be based on the resources and time available to you.
Enjoy the rest of this wonderful Friday and have a great weekend!
